Equipment for Caring

Equipment for Caring is a medical equipment closet that opened in 2015. Through research, we realized there was a need for readily available used, durable medical equipment, so we were inspired to start this program to better serve our community.

Division of Rehabillative Services

The Division of Rehabillative Services works to improve the employment, quality of life, security, and independence of older Virginians, Virginians with disabilities, and their families.

AVA Care of Harrisonburg

AVA Care of Harrisonburg provides free medical care for pregnancy and sexual health-related services.

Poison Control

Poison Emergency services providing immediate free and expert treatment advise and assistance over the phone in case of exposure to poisonous or hazardous substances.

The Pantry: JMU

The Pantry is a joint effort on campus, with support coming from the newly formed Basic Needs Advisory Board, which is co-chaired by Off-Campus Life and Community Service-Learning staff, and has representation from across the university and Harrisonburg community. We have partnered with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to ensure a consistent supply of quality options. The pantry has started largely with shelf-stable goods, some hygiene products, and limited fresh produce. Options will grow and expand as we better understand the needs of our community.

Salvation Army Food Pantry

The Salvation Army is dedicated to eliminating food insecurity.

Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday from 9am-11am

Plains District Community Center Mobile food Pantry

Mobile Food Pantry, Free to everyone in need, No paperwork required. See facebook page for monthly posting

 

2nd Thursday of every month at 10am-12pm

Patchwork Pantry

Patchwork Pantry exists to provide a three-day supply of staple food to those in need in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

 

Wednesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Massanutten Presbyterian Church

Provides food to help end hunger through a partnership with Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and church/community donations. Serving locally qualified families with compassion in Keezletown, McGaheysville and Penn Laird. Functioning as an equal opportunity provider.

 

2nd Monday morning from 10:00am-11:00am, 2nd Thursday evening from 7-8pm.

Openings may change in November and December due to Holidays. When schools are closed due to weather, the pantry will also be closed
