HRHA assist eligible low-income families in our area with their rent through housing vouchers distributed by the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Currently, HRHA receives 883 vouchers. Our voucher program serves the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, including Bridgewater, Broadway, Dayton, Elkton, Fulks Run, Grottoes, Keezletown, McGaheysville, Mount Crawford, Penn Laird and Timberville.

The mission of the Harrisonburg Rockingham Social Services District is the promotion of self-reliance and protection of citizens through community-based services. The Harrisonburg Rockingham Social Services District is divided into two broad program areas, benefits and services.

Public food pantry open the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month – 2pm-4pm

H/R Health department provides STD and HIV/AIDs screening, family planning and birth control, immunizations, WIC services and a child dental clinic

Rapid HIV testing services, comprehensive health education, and holistic support for HIV/AIDS in the Central Shenandoah Valley.

Heathy Families of the Blue Ridge provides home visits, parent socials, toy-lending library for participants, child development information, information on other sources of support for parents.

Hope Distributed is dedicated to supply food, clothing, and furniture to individuals and families that are struggling financially, have been displaced, or who have experienced an unexpected change in their life circumstances

Helps young people obtain the quality education and relevant job training skills they need to be competitive in today’s rapidly changing job market. HYS also focuses on providing young people with important life skills and a sense of responsibility that enables them to be productive citizens who can and do improve their communities and their world.
