First step is committed to providing free and confidential service to survivors of intimate partner or relationship violence who have experienced economic, physical, sexual, psychological, emotional, and/or verbal abuse, including but not limited to controlling behavior, isolation, threats, intimidation, gaslighting, stalking and dating violence.

Our community is a better place because of the services and products we provide through Gift & Thrift and Book Savers of Virginia. Donate and shop at Gift & Thrift and Book Savers. We also support other local non-profits that provide for the homeless, refugees, and other at-risk populations in our community. Hand-in-Hand Resource Mothers Teen Pregnancy Support Group enables you to share with peers and receive education on pregnancy and parenting. Join us for our quarterly support group meetings for pregnant teens and teen mothers.
